A song once said, “Not all men are handsome, and not all handsome guys are men.”

And what’s more irritating is the good-looking ones tend to be more homo than the uhmm, not-so-good-looking ones. Sigh.

But oh well, the silver lining is: If you can’t have him, at least no other girl will have him as well.

Nutella Cheesecake


Nutella Cheesecake!

I have been craving this delicious , and amazing cheesecake for weeks! But the calories kept me away.
When I crave something I do not stop talking about it ( bad habit) , My poor brother came from work holding big jar of Nutella. Next morning my sister bought 2 jars of Nutella. Well that was it I need to make it!


Crust :

2 cups of grounded wheat graham crackers
1/4 cup of sugar
2 tbls Nutella ( or more, but stick to 2)
1/4 cup room temp unsalted butter

The cream:

2 packages of softened ( room temp ) cream cheese
2 cups of Nutella
1 tspn of vanilla extract
1 cup of icing sugar
1/4 cup of heavy cream, if not then a package of unflavored yogurt.

Step 1 : mix crackers , Nutella , sugar and butter . Place the crust in a cheesecake pan. Make sure to use parchment paper before placing the crust. Put the pan in the fridge or freezer.

Step 2: mix cream cheese and Nutella . Mix well then gradually add heavy cream , vanilla and the icing sugar. The mixture will smoothen. Add it on top of the crust and leave it on the fridge over night.

For decorating:
Add some honey to the Nutella with a piping bag go around creating circle. Just like the picture 🙂

Red Lentil Soup


Red Lentil Soup

Since I was a little girl I loved this soup,. But I decided today to make some changes to it and create my own recipe ! surly my mom’s recipe is Amazing but Im on a diet so I had to cut down some ingredients and add my own!

Lets start!

3 cups of water
1 onion chopped
1 1/2 to 2 cups of red lentils washed
4 cloves garlic chopped
1 tbsp dried Basil
1 tsp Rosemary
1 tsp Black Pepper
1 tsp caraway powder
1 tsp Hot Chili
1 tsp of Tunisian Tabil ( if you have it) its hard to find but makes your food really yummy !
2 Bay leaves
3 Carnation ( spice )
1 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tbsp fresh crushed Ginger

1 cup of fresh parsley

Bring water to boil and add all ingredients except for the red lentils , wait for 10 mints then add them. In a medium heat. Leave it for about 30 mints to cook. Then add the fresh parsley .. Let it cook for 2-3 mints.

Blind the soup really well, make sure to take out the Bay leaves first !

Then its ready to serve YUM! 🙂

Chocolate and Caramel Cake


What you need first is a day off, alone at home for 12hrs! To make sure you will have that heaven taste!

Lets start with the Cake:

3 cups all purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups unsweetened coco powder
1 tablesp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
3 large eggs
1 1/2 cup warm water
1 1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup canola oil
1 tsp vanilla extract

*** Unsalted butter and coco powder for the pans
Preheat your oven for 350

Mix the dry ingredients in a big bowl, add the liquid ingredients all at once and mix with an electric mixer in a low speed for 3 mints.

Dived the dough between the two pans.
It took me about 35-40 mints for the cakes to bake. But make sure to do the toothpick test before turning the oven off.

Let the cakes cool down and then put them in the freezer ( meanwhile work on the caramel and the chocolate ganache )

For the caramel you need

3 cups of sugar
1/3 cup of water
2 tablesp of corn syrup
1 cup of heavy cream ( liquid whipping cream )
1 1/4 cup of unsalted butter

In a pan mix sugar ,water, and corn syrup boiling temp for 2 mints or till the sugar devolves then stop mixing. Leave it without stirring for another 11 mints, or till it bronzes! Remove it from heat and add the heavy cream ( make sure to stir it quick to avoid crystals) ** this is the hardest step ever ****

Leave the caramel for 15 mints to cool down and add the butter start stirring till the butter melts.

For Chocolate Ganache

8 oz of semi sweet chocolate ships
1 cup heavy cream ( liquid whipping cream)
2 tablesp corn syrup

In a heatproof bowl add cream and corn syrup till it boils ( im using steam boiling method )
Add the chocolate ships into the boiling cream . And stir …
Let it cool down for a while

Cut the cakes into layers ( as much as you can ) I cut one cake into two layers and the other into three. So its up to you !

Add the Caramel filling, layer by layer ( you can like add nuts or do layer by layer one caramel and one Nutella) up to you.

After finishing filling the caramel add the chocolate ganache on top. Save some for a later toping too!

Leave it in the freezer and start working on your topping!

I used a regular buttercream frosting for the flowers ( 1/2 cup room temp unsalted butter and 1 1/2 cup of icing sugar) add some color if you want

For chocolate curls melt down some semi sweet chocolate ships . With a blush or a spatula separate the melted chocolate over a parchment paper . Let it cool down, and then start creating curls with a spatula.

Start decorating 🙂

You can change the theme also ( like adding sea salt to the caramel to forum a salted caramel cake ) sprinkle sea salt on top instead of the flowers and chocolate curls !!

Libyan MaGrood- مقروض ليبي



I was craving Magrood , something with dates! I love dates! Its a libyan dessert that Libyans make it 3 days before the wedding.. Serving it with Tea and other Libyan sweets! Now days people stopped making it at home they can get it at the nearest bakery! Its sad knowing that I would never get a chance to make Magrood for a wedding! Its also an important dessert on Eid!

You can also start your day with a mini cup of Arabic Coffee and a piece of Magrood!

Here is the my recipe , in fact it changes sometimes from one person to another. My mom’s kinda different in some steps it depends in how you like the flavoring.


4cups of semolina
1 1/2 cup sifted flour
1 1/12 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp baking powder
1 tablespoon orange blossom water added to about 1 cup of warm water to knead the dough

800g date paste
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup roasted sesame seeds

4 cup boilling water
3 cups Sugar
2 tbsp orange blossom water

1/2 cup roasted sesame seeds

Step One:
Prepare the syrup by adding all the ingredients on medium heat for about 30 min make sure you stir from time to time. Add orange blossom. For a richer taste, add 1 tablespoons of real honey while the syrup is still warm.
Set aside to cool down!

Preheat the Oven!!

Step Two :

Combine semolina, flour, bp ., add in the oil and mix well. Let it sit aside for 45 mints or longer.

Step Three:

Preheat a sauce pan add in olive oil, date paste mix well. Till its all well combined. Add in the sesame seeds and cinnamon ( my mom and aunt dont follow the sesame seed step) so its optional. Set it aside and let the date dough cool. When it cools down a bit Roll out the sesame date paste with your palm into 5 long ropes.

Step Four:

Divide the dough into 5 portions, take one portion of the dough and add the orange blossom flavoured warm water a little at a time. Knead well until the dough becomes smooth and easy to shape. Forum the dough into furrow shape. Add in one of the date paste ropes. Close with the sides and smooth the surface of the dough.

Cut the dough into small squares or diamond shape.

Use a Magrood decorating tool to add some fancy design on top!

Place in the preheated oven for 15 mints or till it golden’s ..

Add the in the cold syrup to the warm Magrood. Let it soak for 15 mints..

And then its ready to serve 🙂

Added a Life to my Wall!



Yes We moved to a new house! A big house for only 4 people …. My sister choose the smallest bedroom with cute vintage wallpaper and matching curtains. Youngest brother invaded one of the master bedrooms. Cappuccino colored walls! with matching green curtains.
As for me I ended up with the med room, dark blue walls! No wallpaper! No matching colors!! Really heavy ugly curtains!!!!

So i started to add some touches..I added a polka dotted pink curtains and some handcrafted flowers! Yaaay!

I really love my room now! I got to decorate it myself! With easy materials

Peanut Butter Cupcakes



To be honest I don’t remember my recipe for these cupcakes. I don’t know what’s going on! It was a good recipe I tell ya, but sadly I don’t remember it! I usually use Buttermilk on my cupcakes I don’t remember if I did here or not? I didn’t use butter for sure I used canola oil. I still remember this YAY!!
The good news :I don’t forget my decorating tips!!
Im gonna pretend that I typed the recipe and now I’m in the filling tips!

So when you fill in the cupcake holders , fill them about 1/4 first then  Add one tsp of peanut butter. Then top it up with the rest of the mixture. Remember over all it should go only 3/4 way of the cupcake holder. No more than that!

The Icing :

Ingredients :
1/2 cup of peanut butter,
2 cups of icing sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1tsp maple extract ( optional )

Swirl it on top of the cupcakes and then with a fondant add some roses.

I used white fondant, with one drop of blue food coloring and one red food coloring to get purple .

My niece wanted to make them with me but she decided to leave! Well well.. I was Feeling lonely , hungry and useless! So i decided to make them alone 😦 !

I only baked 10! How fun.. The recipe makes 10 big fingers . I didn’t get a chance to capture a proper photo of them because they were so delicious. My family arrived when the fingers were really to be eaten , with green tea! They were just perfect 😉

Ingredients :

100 grams ( 1/4 of 450g butter Pakedge ) unsalted butter, room temp.
1/3 cup of icing sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract flavoring
2 egg yokes
1 cup of sifted flour.

Decorating :
2 block of 52% chocolate ( I used Purdy’s chocolate for a better flavor) , 1 tpls butter

*Preheat the oven into 150.

*beat butter and icing sugar till it creates a creamy mixture, then add vanilla , then the egg yokes one at the time!
*transfer the mixture into a larger bowl fold in the flour..

*used a pipping bad to make the shape that you want

* melt the chocolate and butter ( the steam method)

* wait for the fingers to cool down then dip them into the chocolate!

I love the half & half idea, my dad liked the chocolate side , and mom liked the plain side and for me : they were good either way! Yummy
